Stomping Girl Winery, inspired by their family's three
generation winemaking history, is a husband and wife owned and operated winery.
Kathryn and Uzi Cohen (photo, right) founded Stomping Girl® in honor of Uzi's grandmother who started the family winemaking
tradition and recruited his younger sister to stomp grapes during the harvest.
"Fond childhood memories abound of my grandmother (below, right) making wine on our family property in Israel. She was an independent, resourceful woman who recruited my younger sister (below, left) to stomp the grapes with her bare feet," recalls Uzi.

Years later, while wine tasting and visiting relatives in Burgundy, Uzi and Kathryn were inspired by these childhood memories and decided to revive the family's winemaking tradition.
They began by making wine in their home
wine cellar in 2003, enlisting the help of family members (namely their 3
children) as grandmother Esther had done so many years prior. As a
fondness for winemaking grew, so did production. They created a
large underground winemaking space and soon had a great group of friends
helping and enjoying the wine with them.
"In 2008, we started our
commercial label, Stomping Girl, named in honor of grandmother and winemaker Esther, sister Michal who stomped the grapes and our modern 'stomping
girls' who also work in the cellar," says Kathryn.
